While the VIDA Count has revealed major imbalances regarding the state of women in literature, such has never been true of Tupelo Press: 68% of our titles are by women. Lyrical, experimental, eclectic, all of them extraordinary, we present here several of the excellent women poets Tupelo is fortunate to call our own.

Marie Gauthier

Marie Gauthier is the author of Hunger All Inside (FLP, 2009). Her poems have appeared in The Common, Cave Wall, Poetry Northwest, and elsewhere. A 2008 Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Prize recipient, she lives with her family in Shelburne Falls, MA where she works for Tupelo Press and runs the Collected Poets Series.

Jennifer Militello

Jennifer Militello is the author, most recently, of A Camouflage of Specimens and Garments (2016) and Body Thesaurus (2013), both from Tupelo Press. Her poems have appeared in American Poetry Review, The Kenyon Review, The New Republic, The Paris Review, and Best New Poets. She teaches in the MFA program at New England College.

Kathy Nilsson

Kathy Nilsson earned a BA from Mount Holyoke College and an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. Her book The Infant Scholar was published by Tupelo Press in January 2015 and won Honorable Mention, Berkshire Prize for a first or second book chosen by Tupelo Press Editors.
