Poetry Circus
Come one! Come all! Festival goers will enter small booths and tents to listen to the poetry of the lost souls, bright-eyed stars, and seasoned veterans of the Dime Museum and Carnival circuit. They may have their fortune told through poem, overhear the inner monologue of a bearded woman, or help complete the thoughts of an amphibious young man. A few performers will circulate outside the tents, engaging passersby and entreating them to enter the tents while dancing or juggling. The strange and vibrant world of the traveling circus come to life in the center of the Poetry Festival, allowing festival goers to stop by between panels or stay all day if they choose. This multi-disciplinary, multi-sensory event will be fun and inspiring for all ages.
